Die Müllkippe in Kware, am Rand von Kenias Hauptstadt Nairobi, ist ein ehemaliger Steinbruch mit steil abfallenden Rändern, in dem der Regen einen See gebildet hat. Doch das Wasser sieht man erst auf den zweiten Blick. Die Oberfläche ist fast vollständig mit Abfällen bedeckt. Die Schicht ist so dick, dass man darauf laufen kann wie auf einem zugefrorenen Weiher. «Genau hier», sagt John Mwaniki, und zeigt auf eine Stelle nah am Ufer, «haben wir sie gefunden.»
